Tonight Matt is playing at t local restaurant from 6 to 10. possibly he will join the other band from 10 to 12. I am eating at 6 with friends at the restaurant, not sure how I will make it to midnight.

Oh, I'm not supposed to drink at all because of my cholesterol meds, Laura. I'll break the doctor's orders for one glass of dessert wine to mark the occasion, but there will be no tipsiness from that, let alone a repeat of last year's rusty nail/absinthe/goldschläger liver mangling.
I'm actually driving to Racine for a super swanky dinner party tonight. In fact, I need to shower and put on clothes and leave v. soon for that party. I made crab cheesecake and shrimp phyllo cups. I was designated the fish course. Seafood works, right?
I'm at the alltel place trying to sort my billing issues. Looks like they are giving me new numbers. WTF. They gave me prepaid numbers and now they need to remedy that so I can get any sort of customer service. Feh.

Scatterbrained packing question: my quart bag in my carry-on? Zip TOP or is zipLOCK okay? Guess which ones we have at the house.
TSA says zip-top, but I'm guessing zip-lock is fine. I've used ziplock and been fine.

I'm going to a friend's party in the suburbs tonight and trying not to be bitter that he met some girl at the gym over the summer and now they are engaged.

And not drinking ALL the champagne like last year and so not being super hung over for my friends' New Year's Day brunch tomorrow.

mac and I are heading over to neighborhood dinner party. I am helping the 2 kids there make 2 gingerbread houses from kits - then there will be mellow eating and sitting about. and a 5 min walk home.
