Anya: We should drop a piano on her. It always works for that creepy cartoon rabbit when he's running from that nice man with the speech impediment. Giles: Yes, or perhaps we could paint a convincing fake tunnel on the side of a mountain.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I don't know where parental involvement should stop or start, so maybe I am expecting too much. I am glad to know they trust us to figure everything out and get it all done, but you think they'd be a bit more involved.

Er, dumping the responsibility on you is not OK. Ugh. I'm sorry, that must be stressful and frustrating. And, well, expensive. I think that's a different issue than parents being overly involved in their kid's academic life.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oh, it hurt.

Oh no! (I extrapolated from my own treatments too much. Sorry.)

Good luck with it. My Aunt has been a massage therapist for a long time and a few years ago she got her c-s cert as well. She speaks very highly of it.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

But in terms of policy, don't their voting records have almost 90% overlap?

Yeah. I think their approaches to policy on almost any issue would be aimed at the same end goal. I guess the big question is if Obama's inexperience would hamper his effectiveness more than the motivating hatred Clinton inspires in the Far Right would hamper hers.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Yeah. It's not so much transferring the responsibility to someone else, but teaching your kid to handle. their. shit.

I kinda resented mom for not helping me more with applications-particularly financial aid, but I went to college, so I guess I was able to do it. Now, I'm so glad she made me do it myself. I can't imagine asking mom to do something for me after age 16 unless it was dire and required an adult.

If only we could convert Clinton hatred into energy. Then electing Clinton would end our dependence on foreign oil.

My son can't view his porn!

You know, if I worked at a college or university, I would now be itching for an overinvolved parent to call me up to complain about their child's lack of internet, just so I could make up the reason it wasn't working." Oh yes, we have special filters that shut down access if you are looking at [ some random odd or disturbing porn or fetish ]"

It's really best that I don't work at one, no?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I had a similar mom, and I feel the same way. I am glad my mother made me self-sufficient, as several of my peers who did not do their own homework on college requirements did not get to graduate on time because they did not get the proper advice from their advisors, but I just took it upon myself to figure things out and I did. (To be fair, it was a really obscure requirement that said you had to have a certain amount of classes considered "liberal arts" to graduate, but theatre and music were not considered liberal arts, so if you were a theatre major who took music electives, you were kinda SOL.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"That can't be right...Junior's into latex costume play not lemurs..."

"Well, we've been finding with recent freshman classes a small amount of overlap between the two."

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Woot! I get to travel for work next week and stay with my parents.
