'Sleeper'

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

A Little Princess where Sara awakes from a sorrowful sleep after a wretched and cruel evening, and finds her miserable little garret transformed by unseen, loving hands into a snug, cozy wonderland of late-night tea and comfort.

Was this made into a Shirley Temple movie? Her wealthy daddy goes to war and they think he dies and she is made a maid at her boarding school and befriends another little girl maid? I remember the scene you describe above from the movie and it was so sweet.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

That's the one.

Wasn't it on Christmas Eve, too? I remember that making it even more lovely. Course, I was like 11 when I caught the movie on a hotel TV, so I might be mis-remembering.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Jilli, I often find that talking to someone about the dream takes away a lot of its power. (Not that I'm asking you to talk about it here).

Yeah, I've been talking about it with one of my oldest friends, and it is helping. But ... gnnnyah. PsychoEx + the general theme of the "Billy" ep of Angel + oh, and he's a serial killer! I hope that dream doesn't repeat.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

...maybe I'll run for President. "A marzipan in every pieplate."

Bingo!

What? It was just sitting there, waiting to be said...

Jilli, minor little yay for you. I gave my friend her GCS tshirt bday present this weekend and she was soo jazzed! Plus, explaining what "Gothic Charm School" means to some of the others present led to one or two of the older people in our dance group asking non-hostile "What about those Goth kids?" questions. All very open and wanting to understand-y. You're an Arbiter of Understanding to the Masses!

eta: Yikes, Jilli, that does sound very unnerving. I hope the willies go away, soonest.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Jilli, I find that getting up out of bed, going into a different room and turning on the lights (not necessarily ALL of them, but YNightmareMV), getting something to drink (cold in summer, hot in winter), maybe some music, and one of my "comfort reads" helps. Plus, in winter, bundling into a warm robe. oh! and cats help.

Best wishes for some peaceful sleep.

t Beyond First World bitch

I was reapplying my (relatively new) lipgloss and discovered it was doing the old-lady-lipstick-running-off-the-lips-and-into-those-tiny-lines thing. I'm all bummed. I really liked the color. PLUS, I hadn't realized that I even HAD those little-old-lady lip lines. Now I'm out however much I paid for my Burgundazzle, plus, Old Lady Lips.
