Joe is getting an evening to himself for Valentine's Day. It's the best gift for him since he's home with Em most of the week now. Em and I will be off to the library.

Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I get to meet with parents for Valentine's Day! Yaaaay!
ETA: Not, I should point out, mine. If it were mine, I wouldn't mind.
Shit I must get done:
- Design paper for class (due Thursday)
- Prep for presentation (due Wednesday)
- Get sample content together for work
Am not in the mood to do anything. Whitefont for the depressing they cremated GF's dad last night and it's making me feel really sad all over again. I wish GF and I could go lay on a beach somewhere for a couple of weeks and not have any obligations. Stupid being an adult!
{{{Gloomcookie}}} You and GF definitely deserve a beach vacation.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARIA!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KRISTINT!!
Happy Birthday Kristin!!!
Happy Birthday Maria!!!
there is something seriously wrong with the marketing of roses for VD.
No kidding.
PENICILLIN, PEOPLE.
My aunt is fond of sending people Valentine's Day cards with the (hand-written) message "Hope you like VD!!!"
I'm not Valentine-y, though I never pass up chocolate when it's offered. I did get The Boy a card, though. I've tried to impress upon him that I *really* don't have crazed Valentine expectations. And then tried further to impress upon him that, by saying that, it isn't a test to see if he gets me flowers and a Faberge egg anyway. Because Teppy don't play games like that. If I say Valentine's Day is no big deal, then I mean it.
I'm not opposed to chocolates and flowers, but I don't expect them, nor do I consider them proof of The Boy's love, or consider their absence proof of lack of love.
All that said, today is our 2-year Kissaversary, when I decided to be bold and Willow-like and kiss The Boy first. (Willow kissed Oz first, in case all y'all forgot.)
And now we live together. Keen!
I would like the flowers and expensive dinner once, I think. Just because I've never done it. However, I am relatively certain that in the middle of it, I would be thinking, This is really not a big deal.
We did the dinner thing our first V-Day together (for the reasons Vortex mentions) but after that we really weren't interested.
Happy birthdays, KristinT and Maria!!!!
With that, I bid you adieu, for I will be dark until Monday or Tuesday!
Happy trip, Nora!
Happy kissaversary, Teppy!
I like V-Day, but that was because it was not a romantic thing in our house. All of us in the family secretly made valentines for each other and each year one of us would decorate a valentine box, where those valentines would be hidden until the day. The box would be opened after dinner on V-day. As we ate the cake my mom made, my dad would hand out the valentines to each of us and we would all pass them around and comment on them. It was really fun. I still send valentines to my borthers and neicephews each year.
