[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I would like the flowers and expensive dinner once, I think. Just because I've never done it. However, I am relatively certain that in the middle of it, I would be thinking, This is really not a big deal.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

We did the dinner thing our first V-Day together (for the reasons Vortex mentions) but after that we really weren't interested.

Happy birthdays, KristinT and Maria!!!!

With that, I bid you adieu, for I will be dark until Monday or Tuesday!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I like V-Day, but that was because it was not a romantic thing in our house. All of us in the family secretly made valentines for each other and each year one of us would decorate a valentine box, where those valentines would be hidden until the day. The box would be opened after dinner on V-day. As we ate the cake my mom made, my dad would hand out the valentines to each of us and we would all pass them around and comment on them. It was really fun. I still send valentines to my borthers and neicephews each year.

As being permanently single, Valentines Day does get to me - even now I can fall prey to cultural expectations. sigh.

In re Wal-Mart - Vortex, if you'll bring matches and lighter fluid, I'll bring champagne.

Now that I think about it, I haven't really seen a whole lot of Valentine's stuff, other than some displays at Kroger (and notices of a carnation sale in school). We'll see what the high school's like on Thursday, but I'm feeling pleasantly unassaulted. I'm even thinking of picking up some of that pink sparkling wine for fun.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

carnation sale in school

I remember hating those sort of school events. I either got none, or got one or two from friends. Not nice for the old self-esteem, you know?

Hee. Not telling.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It's sucky. I'm pretty divorced from all the drama, with my all-boy classes.
