Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday to Suzi!!

Nora, is it possible for you to tell your parents that things are tight right now and that it would be difficult for you?

If you don't want to go into that with them can you express that you were really looking forward to having them to your home in the relaxed atmosphere, cooking your favorite stuff to show off your mad skillz, etc.

{{Erin}} I can only imagine the high level of emotion at your school. Peace to the poor family in this nightmare.

Kristin, banks totally crazy making. I just closed an account I had for 23 years because they pissed me off so much. Now I have the annoying new account where it takes things longer to clear until you establish the account, etc. The way they are set up now everything goes out instantly the moment you spend, but deposits show the next day midnight or some such. I'm ready to start writing checks again for a bit of cushion.

The status is NOT quo.

In happier news, per sj's recommendation, I made reservations for my friend Katie and me tomorrow at the Rose Tree Cottage for afternoon tea. Yay!

Also, if sj stops by, insent.

Happy Birthday, Suzi!

I am awake. ish. And could in theory easily make it to the caucuses. I'm not sure I really care enough to caucus. I would vote, maybe. But....effort! Also apparently you have to be there at 1pm but the real caucusing doesn't start for at least an hour. Boo.

anvils on asshats /And whiskers on kittens...

I like this song. :) Poor Sox. Best of luck.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Coincidentally, we just got a flier from the local farm and home store selling a 110 pound Anvil for $99.99...

Woe to the fucking wicked.

In my family we always sang, "Whiskey on kittens."

I just paid all the monthly bills and I know where all the money is coming from! Yay me! I even have a little left over to buy more stuff for the new cat who, due to an unfortunate confluence of Kevin Smith love and the discovery of a new comic book, is under the potential threat of being named Ubu Bubu Kitty Fuck.

You probably already know not to play with the cat with your bare hands, but when you went shopping, did you see all those "kitten mitten" glove thingies with extended fingers?

I got some of these to play with my grown cats. Scared them shitless. They love most cat toys: feathers on the end of a fishing pole-like thing, feathers on the end of a bendy stick, pretty much anything with feathers. The glove thing caused one to run and hide and the other to back off slowly while in the classic cat arch, hissing and looking panicky from side to side.

It seems likely that most cats love these, since they're quite popular at the store, so I mention this not to refute Andi, but rather to say Ycat's-cat-toy-loveMV.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Wait, why aren't you supposed to play with kittens with bare hands?

Nora, if you don't want to talk finances with them, maybe tell them you gave up eating out for Lent?

Or just "Oh, I'm really sorry, that's not going to work for us, but maybe you can come by for drinks and dessert?"
