I had to call the city. The work seems to have stopped on my street. They did a little yesterday afternoon and nothing today. No one was there to answer the phone. I want to know when my driveway will be accessible again. I wish someone would understand that even if the answer is " somewhere in the next 10 - 20 days", it is way better than me fretting about this everyday

Sox, I'm glad that the unhelpful sitter is gone. I suspect that geography was against you if Iris was supposed to be napping in her room, you were in your office next door, and the sitter was downstairs. I dunno if there's a way to re-think that arrangement.
The pup and I are finally home after some ugly traffic caused by people parking where they shouldn't.

it's possible, though it's worked plenty well prior.
The problem wasn't that she couldn't sleep, really. It was that I was the one chasing her around the house while the babysitter talked on the phone and worked on her computer. While I paid her. That, to me, backwards seemed.
