ok, babysitter is gone. sealed her fate by saying to Iris "I'm you're friend right? I'll see you soon?"
bwah. ('cept I could cry or scream or smash)
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well that works out, friends watch your kids for free.
Totally off topic....
But I just realized this is the last month I will be doing what I've been doing for the last 12 years - work-wise. Next month, I'll shadow the gal who is taking over and then in April, I'll just be "on-call" if she needs help.
Wow. Color me stunned. I mean, how did it take me 8 days into the billing cycle to buy a clue?
squee for SuziQ!
also squee! miniF2F at my house in less than 1 hour!
(::looks around at mess:: oh man...!)
but squee!
Sumi, did you find help with your knitting? I don't know knitting patterns as well as crochet patterns, but I can try to figure it out if you still need help.
Ginger! I love your dentist! I'm glad the tooth is fixed. Poor you.
So, um, finally went to the doctor. Turns out I have a bad sinus infection...that has spread to my ears. Um...no wonder I don't feel well.
Feel better, bug!
Sox, I'm glad that the unhelpful sitter is gone. I suspect that geography was against you if Iris was supposed to be napping in her room, you were in your office next door, and the sitter was downstairs. I dunno if there's a way to re-think that arrangement.
The pup and I are finally home after some ugly traffic caused by people parking where they shouldn't.

it's possible, though it's worked plenty well prior.
The problem wasn't that she couldn't sleep, really. It was that I was the one chasing her around the house while the babysitter talked on the phone and worked on her computer. While I paid her. That, to me, backwards seemed.
WAY backwards. Sorry about that.
If it's any consolation, when we had a nanny we'd still have to shut the door to the computer room to get any work done, and Mal would just sit outside the door and howl, despite all the nanny's efforts.
I think I like "Potomac Primary" better than "Chesapeake Primary." Alliteration is good. Also, this is the first primary I've ever voted in, so I'm somewhat excited about that.
Yay voting!
Yay shiny new tooth!
Nora, the most recent book that I read that was just curl up on the comfy couch with a beverage and never want to stop was The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel by Diane Setterfield. It was very booky. The main character grew up in a bookstore. It was a very pleasant read.
It's starting to become a battle between me & DH as to who is more tired at the end of the day. I understand his need to come home and chill after work. I know he wants to eat dinner and watch Pardon the Interruption without interruptions.
But, Dude. Been up with toddlers for longer than he's been at work. And he gets to go to the bathroom in privacy so I really think I win and should get a break when he gets home.
Today the kids tag teamed me RIGHT before we had to leave to take Owen to school. I went upstairs to get socks for both of them and Liv climbed the counter and turned the faucet, flooding the counter and getting her clothes wet. When I went upstairs to get her dry clothes, Owen pulled down his pants and peed in the kitchen floor. Then I had to get them both redressed, boots & coats on and get them in the van to leave in less than 10 minutes resulting in much yelling and stress on my part.
