Crap. I'm not gonna get my car back til tomorrow. Dammit, I want it NOW!!!!
ION, I am keeping myself occupied my cleaning and organizing the whole house. Starting with the kitchen.
I have cleaned out and organized all my cabinets, cleaned out and cleaned the fridge (I can't clean the disgusting top of the fridge till I get paper towels tomorrow -- darn), washed every single damn dish, and now I will scrub the floor.
Oh, and thrown out about 1 1/2 bags of shit that I don't need/want/is broken/is trash.
When the floor is mopped, I will go to Urban Outfitter's to look at at their furnishing sale stuff, then to Kinko's to print out stuff for licensing the car tomorrow.
Then I will wash down the walls in my little dining room attachment to the kitchen. I think I am going to throw out two of the kitchen chairs. I would love to get rid of the little kitchen table (it's my grandma's but it is very rickety, and it's no antique) and get a little kitchen cart, but that's out of my budget right now. Then I will scrub and lemon oil the wood floors in there.
Then I'm gonna sort and do laundry and watch movies as I fold. I think I'm going to cull a lot of stuff. I think I'm going to try to get rid of abunch of sheets, but I hate to just throw out clothese that are just a little stained or...ugly.
I think I'll make rags out of some t-shirts and sheets and just be ruthless with the rest.
Susan, Ihope you can find something you like. Is there someone who can look over my resume? I haven't heard from the job I just applied for so I'm giving it up but maybe I can make my resume better.
Erin's being too productive!
I'm eating poorly again. Panda Express broccoli beef, crispy shrimp, and fried rice. Nom nom nom!
I HAVE to get organized -- my house is a disaster, and my office....shudder.
And I can't get shit done when everything surrounding me is literally crapulous.
And being clean and organized is incredibly mood-lifting for me. It happens so rarely.
Reason number 577 why I love my neighborhood...
I had to run MANY errands today, what with the being essentially out of the country for 17 days starting tomorrow. I had them all planned out, and essentially went in a big circle around the city. My third to last stop was for a pedicure, which I left in flip flops (it's like 17 degrees here). Next was the pharmacy. I picked up my prescriptions and went to leave when the pharmacist that I love yelled from behind the counter, "Valerie! Get some socks on!"
Then it was off to the library to return, well, overdue library books. Dropped them off and turned to leave...got almost out the door when the librarian I know (who was on the phone when I dropped off the books) yells, "Valerie! Where are your socks? You're going to freeze to death!"
I may live in the city, but I live in a very small neighborhood.
Nora, peace to you and yours. {{}}
I should put the puppy down and work on unpacking a box or two, but she's warm, fuzzy and snoring in my lap. It seems a shame to disturb her. (Spoiled? No, of course my puppy isn't spoiled. Why do you ask?)
Sox's DH just called to ask how we were feeling, because Sox is in the ER, having come down with some sort of bronchial-feverish-stomach-ick plague since they left here on Sunday. Wish her luck and re-hydration ~ma.
Reported by Sox's DH:
Iris: Why are we here?
SoxDH: (Explains mom is a patient and they have to wait for a doctor.)
Iris: I don't have any patience!
(Iris' grandmother has picked her up and taken her home.)
Oh, poor Sox! Fast recovery wished.
Best get well wishes to Sox!
GC, sorry about your bathroom remodel problem. How frustrating!
