Thank you for the good wishes. We're at GF's mom's house now. She wants to have a memorial service but not a religious one so tomorrow we're going to try to figure that out. Any ideas would be most appreciated, if any of you have experience with it. She's looking for someone to officiate but doesn't want a pastor, etc. It's been a very surreal day. Raise a glass to Jack, a truly sweet and caring man.

GC, I'm so sorry about Jack. Much sympathy to you, GF and all her family.
I'd look for someone close to Jack to officiate--was he in any clubs or organizations? I've been to services where they just line up loved ones to say a few words and play a favorite piece of music. There are no funeral rules, per se. I hope they can decide on something that gives them peace.
