[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I guess I'm the flip side of just about everyone. Mom lives with me and I still talk with her on the phone at least once a day from work. When she didn't live with us, we still talked frequently.

My father - I probably talk with him once a month. I talked with him today, so I'm good until next month - right?

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I usually talk with my mom 1-3 times a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. Sometimes that's way too much, sometimes not enough. My mom and I have an interesting relationship.

Marie Callendar's gets nice and flaky in the microwave, shockingly. That makes me very happy. I had one Saturday night, and had to go buy more tonight.

These are so good! They have them at Costco. Yeah! nom, nom, nom.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

yay. Finally home. Looong day. Of course, I woke up late. Hit every red light to get to work. It didn't go bad, mind you. Just long. And with the late start, meant no breakfast... and no time for lunch. So all I ate all day was a couple packets of Pop Tarts. I got out at 8, and made a dash to fast food. Ugg. There was no way I was going to make it home and cook. O well. At least everything at work went fairly smooth.

I'm gonna go play bingo.
Are you old enough for that? Don't they card at the door???

Ok. I promise I'll quit being picture girl sometime, but this one was too good to not share...tonight's sunset: [link].
Don't you dare! Especially with pics like that! It's not like I'm gonna make it down there anytime soon.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Susan, what size do you wear, and what sort of work shoes are you looking for? I mean, yes, go out and buy some shoes that don't leak RIGHT NOW, for goodness sake. But I can also ask around with some of the other people I know and see who has what stashed away in their swap boxes.

Mostly size 10, occasionally 10 1/2 or 11, and since I have sort of quirky, hard-to-fit feet, I'm looking for something pretty basic that will look good with everything from business casual pants to jeans. These are the shoes that turned leaky on me: [link]

I still like how they look and fit; I just can't wear them if there's the least chance of rain. Which means I can pull them out again in July.

And these are the ones I bought tonight, in brown: [link]

It makes me a little nervous that they're the same brand that leaked, but the construction is different, and I figure the leak thing was probably a fluke. And of the ten pairs or so I tried on tonight, they're the ones that felt best.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

This has just been the worst day, though I swear if I described it, it would sound like nothing. Very nibbled to death by ducks. I've had days where as many tiny things went wrong and I shook it off...but today just broke me. I'm starting to put things back together, but I'm still mystified by what made the duck nibbling so much worse than normal this time around. I mean, PMS, sure, but it's not like THAT is an unusual state I've never experienced before, either. Maybe that it's the first bad day of the year? Or maybe it's that I kind of hate this time of year, when the holidays are over but it's still all cold and dark and wet, so it's bad day plus PMS plus SAD? I don't know. I just hope it gets better soon.

Heh. I'm totally feeling you on the leaky shoes issue. I'm especially annoyed because I bought a pair of flats in...November?...and they're already falling apart. GRRR. Guess I'd better go with the pricier shoes.

Good luck with the keyboard drama, Vortex!!

I should really clean my house. Especially since I have people coming over tomorrow (to watch trashy reality TV!)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

My wee sister bought me 3 pairs of shoes for Christmas - just wee slip-on things, but that's all I need in Thailand (where I teach barefoot anyway). But unfortunately she bought Size 5. And my feet are 5 1/2 - so if you've got to pick, it's best to go with 6. (UK sizes, obviously. No idea what that would be in the US - we're talking around 39/40 European, if that helps?)

Why yes, I am the Queen of the Blister People right now. Why do you ask?

I am also A Woman On A Mission. Apparently there is a shop selling T shirts with Batman and Robin snogging. I am going to find said shop, insh'allah, and although I do not wear T shirts, not do I expect there to be any T shirts in Size Fay, nevertheless a Batman/Robin T shirt must and will be mine!!!!

Mostly lurking...

Oh, Susan, what a shitty day. I'm so sorry. I hope today is better.

I am going to find said shop, insh'allah, and although I do not wear T shirts, not do I expect there to be any T shirts in Size Fay, nevertheless a Batman/Robin T shirt must and will be mine!!!!

Oh, how I love Fay!

There's a gorgeous sunrise right now. I'd go take a picture, but I don't want to wake my hosts (the apartment has screens everywhere, so it wouldn't be a very pretty picture from there).

Today we're snorkeling again at a different beach. YAY!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Susan, I hope today is duckless and that your new shoes are both comfy and leak free.

ImemeN, I'm not sleepng because my stomach is upset. I hope it is just being its usual annoying self and I'm not coming down with a stomach bug.
