Spike's Bitches 39: Cuppa Tea, Cuppa Tea, Almost Got Shagged, Cuppa Tea...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I lost the baked eggs in ham cups recipe that I was going to make for my Dad on tuesday. Does anybody recall if that link was posted here?

Our wings are not tired.

Why didn't I torture my son for the last two weeks and make him do the assignments due tomorrow? I hate this.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

He actually has assignments due TOMORROW? After 2 weeks off? That's just kinda cruel, really.

I waited until yesterday and today to do my lesson planning for the next week. The lesson planning is really done for 2 of my preps, but not the other 2. Got one done and one mostly done. Done enough that I can finish in the morning. So, it's not just students waiting until the last day of break.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

And somehow, I also wonder if y'all cringe at my posts, as my grammar, spelling, & punctuation are not always up to snuff.

Nah, Omnis... the cringe-worthy stuff isn't screw-ups from people who are at least trying to post in a reasonable fashion. Very few of us are perfect here. But there are any number of people who are not like us who think l337speak and txt-ese are the bright future of written communication. It's like the tele-keyboard is a hoarde of entitled Normans, standard writing is Old English, and we are a handful of rag-tag Anglo-Saxons.

Just call me "Siouxsie Shunshine".

I have papers that I fully intended to grade over the break. They still aren't done so I guess I'll power through it tomorrow afternoon and on Tuesday. The lesson plans will probably get thrown together Tuesday night, I know what I'm going to do in 2 of my preps. The 3rd prep can limp along. Districts are in less than a month and the one act and individual events require my focus right now.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Also, billytea -- THANKS FOR THE PENGUIN!! It's much smarter than the Fairy Penguins at the Cincy Zoo. We put it on the Christmas tree, although it isn't, technically, an ornament.

You're welcome! I think it's an ornament now. I wonder if it'd be possible to decorate a tree entirely with penguins?

I was looking for your original post so I could COMM it (Love WindSparrow's response!) when I found this

Some how this week, in the throws of long work hours called tech...

and I realized that I had noticed that your grammar was not perfect but only because I think throws should be throes and I had just listened to that Minnesota Public Radio broadcast about homonyms and homophones and all those other homos and I realized this is one I hadn't thought of before! But I didn't cringe. I said, "hey neat." So if you can't be acurate, at least you can be amusing. (says the girl who often reads over a post, changes, something, changes it back, it still doesn't look right, says, "oh screw it!" and posts it anyway. Or sometimes I say, "oh nobody gives a shit what I think." and delete the post... so close this one came... so close)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We took our Christmas tree down tonight. Poor little tree; I'm going to miss it. It gave our somewhat dark living room just enough light to read by comfortably.
