I was spanked as a kid. Maybe 2 or 3 times. But we were threatened with it more often than it happened.

We occasionally spank Li'l Sphere when he disrespects the time out, but "spank" for us means "a light pat on a diapered hiney," which generally does the job of embarrassing him enough that he prefers the time out.

For my dad, "spanking" involved belts across bare skin, and those probably ran until I was 11. That's not going to happen with us. From what I gather about my dad's upbringing, he thought he was going easy on us.

We never got spanked, though we certainly deserved it. My mom, however, was really REALLY good at the psychological-pain type of behavioral adjustment, so she didn't need to spank.

I was spanked as a kid, but not often enough for it to be memorable, and not hard (but more than a swat). I did have my mouth washed out with soap when I was 15 or 16 for calling my mother a bitch.

Not in my memory. My father used to threaten us with a belt by snapping it, but he never ever used it. My mother slapped me once when I told her to shut up. I was 11 or 12. Given that my parents never even raised their voices with us, I'm sure I deserved that.

I wasn't ever spanked in my memory. Might have been at some point as a toddler, but I don't remember it.

We have occsionally spanked Ellie - usually for outright disrespect/disobediance. Since she's not wearing diapers anymore, it's a bit harder than before, but honestly, it never seems to phase her (which is part of why we don't do it that often). Time out is much more horrible to her.

Eta: that probably stopped some time in elementary school, though I don't really remember. I was rarely naughty, though, so it's hard to say what the parameters were.

Corporal punishment was allowed in my schools right up through high school - in high school you typically got to choose between getting paddled and calling your parents, lots of kids preferred the paddle.
