not only was I pressured this year to be sure to attend, but when I said that mac would not be coming because he won't eat any of the food where we are going (dim sum) - I was told "I don't care if he eats there or not" and then pressured to bring him to play with the big boss' child. I was so caught off guard I said ok.
That sucks! Our party is "adults only" this year, so people who do not have baby sitters can't bring their children. We are supposed to bring spouses (which I don't have).

Our thing is in the day, and spouses etc. are invited, which I just think is so crazy. Most people here have spouses who have jobs of their own!

I started to work myself into a state about the seating arrangements at Thanksgiving, convinced that the only reason I was sitting next to my grandmother is because we were the only two grown-ups there without spouses/partners.
