For example, I must have re-read "The Lion, the witch, and the Wardrobe" seventeen-thousand times, and knew all about Jesus dying and coming back to life and atoning the sins of people, and still had to have the connection pointed out to me, when I was twenty or so.
Nilly (waves), I'd take that more of a cultural thing - it's not something you've been taught from childhood, so not seeing it is understandable.
