I'd take that more of a cultural thing
No, I totally knew the story and its importance (it was just an interesting story), and even when I was much older, enough to understand who was the little kid at the end of "The Selfish Giant", with "on the palms of the child's hands were the prints of two nails, and the prints of two nails were on the little feet" (which was censored from most of the translations of the story into Hebrew, but that's another matter). I just need things spelled out to me.
(Um, is that the time to re-tell the story of my first ever Buffistas post, which was about what other people complained to be anvils, and me being grateful for them?)
[Edited for context, and to thank you for the vote of confidence.]
Hasn't HIMYM always had a laugh track? I remember it turned a lot of people off the show when it first premiered.
Yes it has and that's why I watched the pilot and then didn't come back until, like, the last episode of last season. It still bugs the shit out of me but the show is too funny to miss.

Did you choose to accept the assignment?
The way all things in my life electrical are going, I suspect I shouldn't.
Sara! Maybe the fires are trying to follow you back home. Please take care.
Speaking of fires something caught ablaze down the block from me yesterday. Again. I'm nowhere near the brush-fire ravaged areas, much too built up here. But that's the third place within a two block radius that I know about since I've moved here.
And I still haven't insured my apartment.
I suspect I shouldn't
Well, maybe the assignment would be to sabotage some foreign evil electric equipment? At least you will be able to use Murphy's law for the forces of good?
Thankfully, no fire was involved. Just pieces of plastic shot at my head. Actually, I think I'll blame baggage handlers at BWI.
As much as I'd love to travel to use my powers of evil for good, I'm a little afraid of what would be waiting to destruct upon my return.
Just pieces of plastic shot at my head.
So it malfunctioned, and reverted to its default mode of "kill all humans"?
