I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have no headache, but this morning I saw a little MOUSE run from my garbage to under my sink. I am traumatized. Is there any method of killing mice wherein one does not have to clean up little mouse bodies?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Apple pie: Sunday, I think it was, I was complaining that it was 22F. This morning I checked the temp before leaving the house and its... 62F? Sheesh.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The guerrilla clockmakers (from the link a while back) are awesome.

I should get up and get dressed. Don't wanna.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

The Bounty was the ship that Khan and his followers were found on in deep sleep in an episode of Star Trek: TOS.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Hasn't HIMYM always had a laugh track? I remember it turned a lot of people off the show when it first premiered.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

The Bounty was the ship that Khan and his followers were found on in deep sleep in an episode of Star Trek: TOS.

Nope, that was the Botany Bay (named for the prison colony: oh, TOS, how anvilly are your anvils!)

CaBil, it was the Botany Bay, wasn't it?

x-post! and, re TOS, they STILL didn't get it. Is there a word for those who go along, blithely ignoring anvils being dropped around them?

Swouncing

Is there a word for those who go along, blithely ignoring anvils being dropped around them?

Um, me?

For example, I must have re-read "The Lion, the witch, and the Wardrobe" seventeen-thousand times, and knew all about Jesus dying and coming back to life and atoning the sins of people, and still had to have the connection pointed out to me, when I was twenty or so.

Nilly (waves), I'd take that more of a cultural thing - it's not something you've been taught from childhood, so not seeing it is understandable.
