It certainly wouldn't be the first time that promotional materials completely misrepresented the product they were promoting. I'm lookin' at you The Last Boyscout!
Firefly 5: That's my girl... That's my good girl.
Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
I guess I just see it as judging a book by its cover and a whole lot of to do over nothing.
I was just remembering an old Friends ad, from before it was on. They were all standing around in their underwear talking about how them standing around in their underwear was just a publicity stunt, and they really wouldn't be on the show. And then one (I think Jennifer Aniston, but I'm sure) said something like, 'we won't be standing around in our underwear, right?'
It sounds like this is something like that, without the humor.
I think one (and only one) of the posters is open to a negative interpretation. That also seems to be the poster that is getting the most attention. Gee, I wonder why Fox put that one out? It might have something to do with their target demo of hormone overdosed young men.
Absolutely agree.
What I am saying is that the promotion is attention getting (as it should be), but from all indications the show itself does not follow the same vein.
Also agree.
It might have something to do with their target demo of hormone overdosed young men.As someone part of that demographic (what? I'm still young!) Anyhow, the one thing I notice looking at the half-Summer poster.... did they enhance her lovely dancer body? Why???
::/perv::
I had the same thought. She is lovely, but the poster made her seem more endowed that I had thought her to be. Or something like that.
I call it the Kiera Knightly effect.
good name for it. Also annoyed at what the ads do to her too. She actually commented on it at the POTC-3 press junket. How the Euro posters for King Arthur showed her in her natural state, but the American posters turned her into a C cup.
Well I wouldn't call what they did a C-cup. It was really more of just a respectable A, but it is what it is.
um, I'll defer to a woman to determine cup size. Either way, it was a sizeable difference. Here is an article with the before and after shots of that poster: [link]
Whoa, just noticed in that link omnis posted above, there's a link to an IMDB article including a blurb about Britney Spears appearing on BtVS. Was she initially slotted for Glory?
