You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

Some of them seemed to think that every damn thing needs to be analyzed for misogynistic conspiracy theories. I may send a few of them tinfoil hats.

That was me, over in Boxed Set, actually. I think it's incredibly disturbing.

when i die, please bake my ashes into a brick and use me to hit fascists.

All I can think is, man. Summer is soooo preeeetty.

I vote toward postponement, 'cuz I'll be gone, but then, I don't WnP anyway, so I don't count.

Compassionately intolerant

I'm up for Wednesday this week for Bushwacked. (my least favorite ep, I'm afraid)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Honestly, I'm as annoyed by misogynistic conspiracy theories as you are, but that even pinged me.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I guess I don't see it as very different from The Borg Queen. Or is she a misogynistic icon, too?

I think it's a step beyond the Borg Queen (though DX also brought up that reference during the conversation in Boxed Set). The Borg Queen, though female, was clearly alien. That poster looks like Summer, completely human, sexually available with her flowing long hair and her breasts. She just happens to be missing the rest of her body.

I'm not really familiar with the Borg Queen, but the image looked to me like a floating pair of breasts tantalizingly obscured by hair.

I think some of the most iconic images from the world of The Terminator are of dismembered robots. I feel like Summer's poster goes right along with that. Also if you follow the link at the bottom of the AICN page there are three other posters. AICN chose to post that one (I think) because it is arguably the most striking.

t shrug

I'd argue that though we saw the Arnold Terminator naked in the first movie, the overall image was one of strength, which is clearly not the intention with the Summer Terminator.

Other people are entitled to disagree, of course, though I'd rather not be called a tinhat who sees misogynistic conspiracy theories.

Even though I think all robots are scary, the 1/4 profile does seem to indicate vulnerability. With all four posters together (vote for your favorite!) I get the feeling that the force to be reckoned with is not the Terminator but Sarah Conner. edit: but that's because of her big damn gun and not her noticeably missing Linda Hamilton arms of power. I wonder if the mood they're going with for the Summer Glau posters is "poor little robot".
