I miss this show so much. My boyfriend and I watch it once a year or so, and I just finished up Jaynestown, Out of Gas and Ariel. It's simply an amazing run of episodes (and War Games is up next!)
Watching Firefly just makes me so giddily happy and yet I also feel extreme sadness while I watch it as well.
Me too, Rayne. I was in instant love from the bar scene in The Train Job, and only fell in deeper with each episode. I've never fallen out of love with it. And I can't watch once a year--it's too precious. About every 18 months is all I'll allow. I might wear it out, else.
Daniel and I don't have a timetable for watching Firefly. I'm pretty sure I have seen The Train Job more than once in the last six months. And I am still really looking forward to seeing it again tonight for the w&p. There are a couple of other episodes that I have seen recently, but we haven't gone through them systematically. It will be good to see the whole series.
I'm looking forward to it tonight. I hope my internet cooperates this time!
Me too, quester, I hope you can stay with us.
Are we doing the 'cue up' countdown? I can ff pretty easily to get on track with folks but it seemed like we have some disjointed timing going on last time.
bonny, I am having a really hard time picturing what you mean by

but I still think it is probably a good idea - I keep coming up with "synchronizing watches" without actually coming up with the steps needed to do that in this context. So would you be willing to initiate that for us?
Okay. This may be too much trouble, but here is what I have planned.
I have my disc in, hit play for the Train Job and then hit pause on the first couple of frames. When 8pm rolls around, I will hit play again.
I think the problem I have been having is hitting play from the main menu, the play menu or popping the disc in at the appropriate time, means I'm always behind somebody.
I'm nobody's hall monitor though and synchronicity may be no one's concern but mine, so it ain't no big thang. But, that's my plan.
I think I will do that, too, Bonny, although I will be watching with netflix.

That sounds like what I have been doing. I am not sure why I wasn't making the connection between what you were saying before and what I was doing. Sometimes a description that someone tells me, my mind comes up with a mental picture that is different from what they really mean, no matter how accurate their description, and I have trouble grokking it.

I think other people mentioned getting better synchronized last time around, as something that would increase our enjoyment, make it slicker and smoother. Not in those words. For some reason, "slick" is my word of the week, and I keep using it.
