Now, this would be the perfect time for a swear word.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

We started Daniel's mother with "Our Mrs. Reynalds". While "Out of Gas" is sheer brilliant television in so many ways, it might do to start with an ep. a bit less focused on the ship.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You can hear classic Joss all the way through that one.

But it's so Tim.

Compassionately intolerant

When pimping Firefly, I avoid using the words 'space' and 'scifi' and focus on the relationships and humor. I'll describe the lead as a flawed but lovable hero and then describe the scene where Mal is dueling with Inara's client in Shindig.

The being in another world aspect of it is really incidental to the interplay of the characters.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I don't think of Out of Gas as Jossish at all. I think of it as wholly Tim.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Yeah, I don't think of Out of Gas as Jossish at all. I think of it as wholly Tim.

Hmm. Wonder why I hear a lot of Joss in it. You're right, the story is very Tim. I still hear Joss in every other line, though.

ETA: Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom is what. Zoe: I meant, what's that? Mal: Oh, yeah, just step around that. I think something must have been living in here.

"'Day' is a vestigial mode of time measurement based on solar cycles. It's not applicable. I didn't get you anything."

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Epic, thanks. Walmart's paying my salary right now, I guess I can toss them some business.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

First xmas present purchased! Thanks, Epic!

I love this from the intervierw with the artist, asked to recommend a children's book

I can't recommend highly enough "The Monster at the End of this Book". It's a cautionary tale of modern man's disconnect from his true self featuring an award-worthy performance by Grover, and a twist ending that will leave you reeling.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I had a crazy thought. Firefly and Serenity are both streaming on Netflix. On the Xbox (dunno if other streaming platforms allow for this) have a "watch party" thingy. What if we do a watch n post party?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

That's so crazy, it just might work!
