I've decided that my not-quite-New Year's Resolution is to watch all the eps in English, then rewatch en francais, to see if it sharpens my twenty-years-out-of-school girl French. It was Shindig today. By the end of the ep, I was thoroughly convinced that I caught at least 75% of what I could be expected to catch based on the level of grammar and vocabulary I'd managed to get way back when. Of course, that was woefully inadequate. But I'm going to keep trying.

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
The Jayne Cobb hat costume was made by a friend of mine.
Anyone know where to find Firefly DVDs cheap? Amazon is at $39 and Deep Discount doesn't seem to have them.
Wal-mart seems to have the blu-ray version for $25 [link]
Amazon Marketplace has them for $17.82, used. For new, eBay has them for $24.99.
In other news, I'm enjoying Mark Watches Firefly.
I just finished a Firefly rewatch. man, i miss those characters.
Wow, Mark wrote a wonderfully cogent review of Shindig. Nice.
Thanks for the links.

The least expensive I could find was a site called Hot Movie Sale. They have it for $29.27, but they are discounting $5 off your first order, and giving free shipping on the first item you order. So, $24.27. I hadn't realized that the price had gone up again.
We just started a rewatch and are up to Shindig -- we made it through the first 4 episodes tonight. Because Firefly episodes are like potato chips or M&Ms. You can't have just one.
It seems like Firefly dvds go on sale with some regularity.
Walmart had the set for $20 last night.
I'm rewatching at the moment. Good times. Any tips for persuading The Girl to watch? She doesn't generally like sci-fi - the minute there's a spaceship in shot, she's lost interest. Despite the Whedon geniusness of things.
