That's the first Jayne hat I've seen that looks crocheted instead of knit. I made AnotherAlaskan one a few years ago, and he lost it.

It's a gorgeous cunning hat. We just watched "Message" with the commentary, pointing out that in some scenes Jayne's hat is still strewn with straw, and in others, he isn't.
