She knows theres a threat on board ship, going who knows where to hurt her family. She's gone into gun battles to protect the others, I can't believe she'd just lay there and hope nothing bad would happen.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.
I love the physical and facial reactions from everyone. I love that they made the time available to show them. It's one of the things I missed in the movie -- everything there seemed rushed.

That's a good point, because really I'm not sure how much reason River has given Mal to trust her in a life or death situation. But he's giving her his trust here.
