Do you guys think Book was never a shepherd and he made up all that stuff about the abbey?

Discussion of the Mutant Enemy series, Firefly, the ensuing movie Serenity, and other projects in that universe.
I dunno bout that one. Regardless his (Brooks') character is off his rotation just enough to wobble and make you reevaluate the meanings.
Do you guys think he really misheard Simon or he's messing with his head?
I think Jubal's already sufficiently messed up in his own head... he seems to rely upon a combination of his intellect and physical force. I don't know that he'd have the leftover resources to play with other people's minds. On the other hand, he managed to subdue Kaylee strictly by verbal intimidation and making her imagine the worst. So ignore everything I just said. I'm clearly babbling.
I think he was/is. If he made it all up, he's really staying in character for a long time.
"Your sister's becoming a real annoyance."
"I feel for you."
The logic behind surgeons experiencing what their patients do is a sound one.
Early isn't all the way crazy.
I never noticed how much 'design' plays into this story! The very word has already appeared multiple times.
Huh. I never noticed that before.
I was so fooled the first time I saw this. I thought of all the female ships in books I'd read and I believed.
"I am the ship" Nicely tags back to "she really likes it here" exchange Simon had with Kaylee.
Inara's lines seem off here. She's usually really intuitive, but she clearly is unable to play this man or get into his head, and it would be stupid of her to try. I never quite buy this scene. And the violence of him smacking her is gratuitous.
I'd love to see Early and Yosaffbridge square off
