There was one wintery mix storm I enjoyed, when I was headed back to college after Christmas break. The whole fam was driving me up, and as soon as we got to my dorm room my roommate looked at me and said, "Call Joe, he's going nuts because you haven't gotten here yet and he thinks you're in a ditch dead."
This was gratifying to my young self, because my mother had a sour, disapproving look on her face. She'd been telling me all break that I couldn't trust guys because they were only after one thing.
It would be polite to not mention that it is 71F at about 8pm with the promise of a dip into the 60s tonight. But I just can't help myself.
I do not miss any winter mix except the joy of turning off the A/C and opening the windows.
Driving in that stuff scares me something awful. I feel so bad for truck drivers having to deal with people that think they can stop on a dime in slush.
Eeep. Had enough of Christmas movies and am watching Doctor Who and Torchwood instead. Thinking about making sauce for the lasagna I'll be making.
I test drove a very nice 2005 Mercedes C230. I'm giving it some very serious consideration. Carmax is having the exact same model of car, only with the factory nav system, sent in from one of their other branches so that I can take a look and test drive it. Wow, was it a nice car, and actually a lot more affordable than I expected.
Sonus, I remember the Great Ice Storm of Ought Two. It was awful.
I remember that, too! My block was the only one in my neighborhood that didn't lose power. As the days dragged by, I felt kinda guilty about it.
I was carless in KC for almost 10 years. I took the bus and walked a lot. this was after 3 years in San Francisco. Much different experience!

You are SO evil.
And I will join you.
Two days ago I got an e-mail from my friend that I'm staying with in St. Thomas. It read, "It broke St. Thomas freezing yesterday--it only reached 68 degrees. See you soon!"
am at ohare! indy plane is still here. delayed 2hrs15. so far. earlier one was cancelled no idea what the hold up is. oy.
erin, that sounds scary.
meara, fancy a drink in a vintage 1920s piano bar?
edit: or do you have to stay by the gate?
nah, i think id better stay here, no telling what will happen. might still get cancelled. keep pushing it back. always bad when you dont have a plane yet.
It's coldish here, but not really freezing.
I went to Moo Shoes with my sister today. She bought me my birthday present: this bag: [link] (the color on the right.) I also came very close to buying this t-shirt: [link] I'm usually not so big on shirts with slogans, but this one was subtle, and really pretty.
I'm watching Invader Zim the Most Horrible X-Mas ever. Ooh I need eggnog and fruit cake.
