Pumpkin puree! Boy wanted a pumpkin pie for Halloween, and I was going to make one, but he said that I really need tins of pumpkin puree to make it properly. Alas, such a thing does not exist over here.
Apple butter is the food of the gods. I've never had pumpkin butter, but I'm willing to expand my horizons.
Jars, my sister makes pumpkin pie out of fresh pumpkin. I'd bet a quick Google would come up with tips on how to make it really good. Sis works wacky hours or I would call and ask.
Pretty sure fresh pumpkin isn't exactly abundant near Jars either. Though maybe I'm just assuming things.

And come to think of it, an old college roommate grew up on her grandparents' farm, and she told me that they never bothered to label the canned/frozen pumpkin or the squash they put up from their garden. Even though there was a risk of eating pumpkin for a vegetable, and having a squash pie, she said it all came out as good.
