Spike's Bitches 38: Well, This Is Just...Neat.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
What are some great songs I should include on a "Parenting" mix for my brother and SIL?
Two of my favorites from when Ellie was a baby were Paul Simon's "Born at the Right Time" and "You Are My Joy" by Reindeer Section. The later isn't really about babies - it's pretty clearly about a romantic relationship, but Ellie gave me so much joy in the first few weeks of her life that I overlooked that part.
Also, iTunes has an album by Sherry Goffin Kondor called Mellow My Baby. It's all lullaby type songs. Just listening to any part of it instantly transports me back to nursing Ellie to sleep in our bedroom in North Carolina. My favorite song from there is the one called "Dreamland". Oh, and "Lullaby for a Stormy Night" by Vienna Teng, although I love all the music on that album.
I don't know if that last bunch is for parents or for kids. It's all music that reminds me of being a parent, but it may not be what you are looking for.
Wonderful! Thank you, Stephanie and Jessica. I've got about 15 songs now.
vw, if I'm right in my recollection that your brother is Christian, I'd recommend Rich Mullins' "Let Mercy Lead."
{{Cass & nephlet}} ::passes bubble-wrap too, for good measure. And quick-healing ~ma. Also for Daniel's Ray.
We're home! we left Ohio (and snow) last night at 7pm and got back here at 1:30 am; it was a pretty drive, actually. We're wiped. But Iris slept the entire way, we didn't need to stop every hour for a potty run, and, well... we're home! To find something like 500 posts in Bitches - I need someone to meara for me - too tired to mzzzzzz...
Why must the Disney people be such a pain? Why?
Because it's Disney?
ION, I went out last night to the neighborhood bar, cause I had to get out of the house. Where I met about 7 lovely Irish folk. Hung out and drank with them for the rest of the night, understood about every 3rd word, except for one guy, and then I understood about every 19th word.
Let's just say I joined the Thanksgiving barf brigade. Euch. I never get sick from drinking. I blame the Irish. I just got up, having successfully slept off most of my hangover.
It was quite a fun night, except for the last 1/2 hour of it. Euch, again, I say!
As long as there is a bar near the hotel in Toronto I might be able to avoid climbing a clock tower with a bolt action rifle.
Just *finally* talked to Nephlet. He's tired, woozy and in pain and it was still wonderful to hear his voice.
His leg (three breaks) is in a full cast for at least six weeks. The rest is just road rash on his face, side and hands. His helmet saved not only his brain, but likely his life.
Thank you for your prayers, thoughts and ~ma. I just want to be able to give him a hug but talking to him was the verbal equivalent today.
Cass - bone ma~~ to the nephlet -- and I am thankful it is leg and no head.
Congratulations on having a home -t!
and to you to Ms.Fay for the end of a successful run.
Calm ma ~~ Stephward.
and to everyone in need of it - calm and relaxed stomachs
Now, now, ND, don't go shooting the Canadians. It's not (entirely) their fault.
