Suzi imo this isn't just a holiday trip, it's important for K-Bug to be there at a certain time. But if things are tense between you and your Dad maybe you could get K-Bug to talk to him and explain why she needs to reschedule her flight.
I'm actually thinking of having my husband do it. I checked the airline to make sure there is a red eye. I am even considering calling and asking what the change fee would be - I have her itinerary number.
