"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Or, possibly, Amish.

Yeah, seriously! How could you not know who he was? He's ubiquitous.

Ack! Blargh, ita. Having no Tivo is not fair to this world. Call lori and see if she can come over. I bet she knows where her pliers are no problem.

But you aren't a slob. Your life is not easy right now, and one of the areas you can cut yourself some slack is your housecleaning. Don't sweat it.

Oh lovely. There was a cop-involved shooting at the mall next to me not long ago.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Okay. Found the pliers. And even better, formulated a plot better than unhooking cable from the new TiVo.

The apartment still is a mess though. I don't think I've ever let where I lived get this grotty. And I can hear my mother saying "Doesn't that make you feel worse???" even though I absolutely know she wouldn't say it now. Which, kinda, makes it feel worse.

So inbetween recalibrating the old TiVo to work without a set top box (no higher order channels for me for a while), I will pick up and dust the living room. It's by far the least I can do.

Fucking wish the headache would go away, or someone would prescribe me something for it so I'm not faced with all or nothing decisions that involve the ER (because that's going to be nothing for the next little while).

Hmm. That didn't work. Instead I must practice mindful breathing and just watch the TV like a normal fucking person and get over it. Which is possibly not the most mindful way to put it, but eh.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I would have sworn I had powdered sugar. I don't. What I do have frosting that's not thick enough.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

Back when I had migraines as a kid the mindful breathing never worked for me... but then again (upon recollection whilst typing) I was only about 7. I usually hugged the toilet and laid back down in the parent's waterbed.

That said... who else loves tequilla?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

ita, is there anything I can do? Pick something up for you perhaps? I think I'm the closest buffista, and the kids are theoretically in bed right now.

The breathing isn't so much to make a migraine go away. I get into escalating loops of anxiety, however (thank you, med cocktail!) and they make them worse. So I need to not let myself get wired over small things.

Once the pain is on, it takes time, sometimes sleep, but mostly large amounts of narcotics. I exist to make nurses nervous.

Watched a few minutes of that two dorks and a hot chick sitcom (this is the curse of me being TiVo-free) and ouch. Just wrong. I hate the ugly geek hot brainless girl thing.

Oh, god no. Thanks a ton for asking, but unless you're toting narcotics, I'm beyond help. Thanks, though, seriously. You guys are great.

"I am the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world"

That makes sense.

TV shows that simply cater to a certain stereotype only to reinforce a stereotype that some of the targeted audience holds to be true irritates me.
