Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

It is a very sharp taste, kinda sour-savory.

All I got from the tamarind balls Lee gave me was a puckery citrus flavor. No savory, although that sounds intriguing and appealing. Maybe my sour tastebuds outnumber my savory tastebuds.

Because books.

Huh. That ... does not sound like my kind of thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm imagining almond for no reason I can think of.

Not at all. It's an explosion of puckering sour. That drink sounds KILLER.

Juliana, does that have a name? I mean, can I order that? I wouldn't be surprised if not--is tamarind a standard for bars?

Kat, what's the criteria for getting him off oxygen? Medical say so?

Okay, I really need to nap. Lying down. I've been falling asleep intermittently in this really not-comfortable dining room style chair for a couple hours now. Just until I finish the internet, I kept bargaining.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Kat, what's the criteria for getting him off oxygen? Medical say so?

Pretty much. But it's also an issue of his pulse ox reading, whether or not he gained weight and grew in length at the next appointment. If he has a failure to thrive, that might be part of breathing issues. And his lungs need to sound clear.

Just found out we've been approved for the Synergis Clinic for RSV. I had no idea it was one shot a month for 6 months!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Well, dude calls it a Red Agave, but that's because it's the house cocktail for the same-named restaurant.

You might be able to find it at Trader Vic's - tamarind paste is not a standard for most bars, but Vic's would probably have it. Maybe another tiki-style bar in LA?

I'd just ask for a margarita with tamarind paste, but only if I knew the bar was using fresh ingredients (no freakin' Rose's!).

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Huh -- I think I heard about the Fogelberg impersonation incident, in a different context.

YUM

I want someone to make me one RIGHT NOW

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't understand why I've never had tamarind, but I don't think I ever have! How does it compare to passionfruit?

I fucking hate flagyl.

Anyway, I hope Noah's able to do without the extra oxygen soon, but glad he's still got that option while the air quality is the suckiest.

Worst air quality I've experienced was Prague in the spring. Inversions caused all the smog to get stuck in the valley and it hurt to inhale and you'd get all dizzy. You'd see people walking around with unlit cigarettes, using the filters. Oh & your clothes all got this grey film. Blech.
