Zoe: First rule of battle, little one. Don't ever let 'em know where you are. Mal: Whoo-hoo! I'm right here! I'm right here! You want some of me? Yeah, you do! Come on! Come on! Aaah! Whoo-hoo! Zoe: Of course, there are other schools of thought...

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Ack! Ack! Did meara post this story here, too? Its like Penlind...only worse. Much worse.

Fascinating, in a train wreck kind of way, but also horrifying.

Tamarind is nothing like almond. It is a very sharp taste, kinda sour-savory. In all fairness I've never had straight tamarind, but growing up in California I had tamarind candy and tamarind ice cream. Hated them. Takes a lot to get me to hate ice cream. Also did not care for tamarind juice. Since I like candy, juice and ice cream, I tend to assume that it is the common factor I disliked.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

It is a very sharp taste, kinda sour-savory.

All I got from the tamarind balls Lee gave me was a puckery citrus flavor. No savory, although that sounds intriguing and appealing. Maybe my sour tastebuds outnumber my savory tastebuds.

Because books.

Huh. That ... does not sound like my kind of thing.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm imagining almond for no reason I can think of.

Not at all. It's an explosion of puckering sour. That drink sounds KILLER.

Juliana, does that have a name? I mean, can I order that? I wouldn't be surprised if not--is tamarind a standard for bars?

Kat, what's the criteria for getting him off oxygen? Medical say so?

Okay, I really need to nap. Lying down. I've been falling asleep intermittently in this really not-comfortable dining room style chair for a couple hours now. Just until I finish the internet, I kept bargaining.

Kat, what's the criteria for getting him off oxygen? Medical say so?

Pretty much. But it's also an issue of his pulse ox reading, whether or not he gained weight and grew in length at the next appointment. If he has a failure to thrive, that might be part of breathing issues. And his lungs need to sound clear.

Just found out we've been approved for the Synergis Clinic for RSV. I had no idea it was one shot a month for 6 months!

Well, dude calls it a Red Agave, but that's because it's the house cocktail for the same-named restaurant.

You might be able to find it at Trader Vic's - tamarind paste is not a standard for most bars, but Vic's would probably have it. Maybe another tiki-style bar in LA?

I'd just ask for a margarita with tamarind paste, but only if I knew the bar was using fresh ingredients (no freakin' Rose's!).

Huh -- I think I heard about the Fogelberg impersonation incident, in a different context.
