Everything looks good from here... Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... 'This Land.' I think we should call it 'your grave!' Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal! Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh! Now die! Oh, no, God! Oh, dear God in heaven!

Since I often cook in insane quantities and eat off it for a week, the microwave is practically a necessity for reheating. Most of the stuff wouldn't survive a reheat in an oven or stovetop. Or it would take too damned long.

But I pretty much use it only for re-heating. And melty cheese.

Talked to my brother. Alabama football has started. Which means his game-day saturdays, 7 am to 10 pm, will be spent earning $100 babysitting a luxe tailgate setup outside the stadium and drinking beer thoughtfully provided by the tailgaters. They could've just paid him in beer, but they didn't know that and babysitters are thin on the ground, I guess. He could care less about football, but in Alabama, it's apparently akin to religion. So he can make money off that. Cracks me up. But shouldn't surprise me. He's quite good at finding ways to make a few bucks. Even ways that don't involve being a guinea pig.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Flat TVs and electronic mail.

Although their electronic mail sounds more like a fax.

You're just pissed because you don't have a robot bartender.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

But does the robot bartender know what is an authentic gimlet, I ask you.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Oh my god I'm spending money. I had the roof on my garage replaced today and I'm waiting on a bid to replace the roof on the house. Plus the painter is coming by tomorrow to talk about colors for the house. Plus I just sent an orchid to my pregnant sister-in-law (7 weeks, eeks--they're not telling our folks yet).

And yet I really want the $200 cashmere hoodie I found on Bluefly--good thing they don't carry it in my size. ::sobs::

Oh, and I can't live without a microwave. How would I heat up my Trader Joe's Indian food?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

In addition to reheating, I use the microwave to heat up frozen food (like TJs mac and cheese--mmm!) and, often, steam veggies. I use it all the time.

Speaking of dinner, it's getting to be about that time, isn't it? I should probably get started soon, just in case DH arrives home with a cranky little girl.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Especially the jump suit with racing stripes.
Hey, it's my casual Sunday wear! At least during racing season. I have the hot pink in satin for more formal races.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My dinner tonight is a mango-pineapple smoothie. No microwave involved.
