meara, I think the first was at the house with bamboo behind it. A fuse blew and I couldn't figure out the fuse box. Then in the apartment way high up at the come-as-you-aren't party. I think I slept at there once, but I don't recall which party THAT was. You throw good parties. You will in the future in your new home.

Yes, I think the first was the Seven Deadly Sins party--I still have a picture of you and me and Tess, at it. :)

msbelle, Prague was like that. Except it was CITY-wide, not building. Was crazy. For a few weeks, we had to sleep with the windows wide open because it was hot, but the heat was still on. Of course, that was the same city where, in some flats, the toilet was a common one for a floor, with no heat which sucked in January. Break the ice in the tank and bowl with the plunger, do your business. No toilets in the apartments! FREAKY. Pre-plumbing, I guess.

I like controlling my own thermostat. And my own toilet.

Me too. Heh. I was tanner and skinnier then. And, well, younger.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

New York heat can be fun. Its not uncommon to crack a window to balance things out. I never put my fan away.

Good lord. That was...2000! Seven, almost eight years ago! Wow. We were *babies*!!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I take it all of the L.A. people are okay, if likely to be wildly inconvenienced by the freeway accident/fire?

That is a CRAZY accident. I do take the truck ramp when I take that route so that freaks me out a bit. But it's been a while since I've driven up to SF so....

meara, I've seen pics of your place, but I can't wait to see it with fresh colors. Our living room is an orangey color and I love it. The hallway is brown (not so good) and the bedrooms are greenish/yellow, sort of like bile.

Lee! ACK! That's no good.

In honor of some of you canada folks, I had my first doner kabab sammich. Twas YUM!

I've spent too too too much money this week, but we did get a ridiculous amazing stroller I'm in love with.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I thought I was having a migraine today. But then the SO was all, have you been drinking enough water? And I was like, no. And I went and got some and felt better immediately. Not only had I not brought in my normal liter water bottle to lessons this morning, I drank coffee instead. And then didn't have anything else to drink all day. No wonder I was feeling bad. Happier now.

meara, I know. Freaky, no? I was in my twenties! Plotting to get away. Snort. That worked well, no?

Someday, I'll have a place to paint. Kat, from what I've seen in pix of Noah, I like the colors in your LR.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yikes, Lee! That does not sound good At All.

I love my bright yellow bedroom.

This is going to be one of the few nights of the year I close my living room window -- when the heat comes on, it will be fine open until it gets really freezing. But man, my apartment was freezing this morning.
