Fall has arrived. the furnances in the building kicked on this morning, but not after a too cold in here night (mac came to my bed at 5 "it's cold". I got the comforters back on both beds today and tonight I look forward to being toasty. I am still not convinced that we won't have another warm day though, still I bagged up the first load of summer clothes into the space bags.

non-sequitor - I've freecycled 2 stereo components and a board game this week, and sold 2 books on Amazon. YAY! go team de-clutter.

Lee - feel better.

I haven't turned on the heat yet. But it is close. Barely got up to 70 with the lights on this evening. It dropped to 62 this morning.

And I don't know if the pilot is lit. I've never used the heater in the new unit. It was put in in May or so.

well, we have no control - heat comes on when the bidling turns it on - having to do with some city law about temp failing below something and the date being past something - anyway - it cycles on and off in these ancient steam furnances and it gets cold (no insulation in the exterior walls - none) then too hot, and dry and... ahhh winter.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Dizzy, migraine, AND nosebleed? Good lord, Lee, don't fall apart on us!! Are you perhaps past due for some routine maintenance? Maybe a vacation?

I like the vacation idea. They couldn't find anything really wrong with me , which was good.

meara, I think the first was at the house with bamboo behind it. A fuse blew and I couldn't figure out the fuse box. Then in the apartment way high up at the come-as-you-aren't party. I think I slept at there once, but I don't recall which party THAT was. You throw good parties. You will in the future in your new home.

Yes, I think the first was the Seven Deadly Sins party--I still have a picture of you and me and Tess, at it. :)

msbelle, Prague was like that. Except it was CITY-wide, not building. Was crazy. For a few weeks, we had to sleep with the windows wide open because it was hot, but the heat was still on. Of course, that was the same city where, in some flats, the toilet was a common one for a floor, with no heat which sucked in January. Break the ice in the tank and bowl with the plunger, do your business. No toilets in the apartments! FREAKY. Pre-plumbing, I guess.

I like controlling my own thermostat. And my own toilet.

Me too. Heh. I was tanner and skinnier then. And, well, younger.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

New York heat can be fun. Its not uncommon to crack a window to balance things out. I never put my fan away.

Good lord. That was...2000! Seven, almost eight years ago! Wow. We were *babies*!!
