e-Doctor? Think Netflix for medicine. Brilliant idea or insane?
Natter 54: Right here, dammit.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Okay, teaching vo-tech classes is the best-kept secret in teaching. This rocks! They do stuff, and I wander around and help. That's the thing I'm good at!

I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but that guy has a billiant PR machine.

That's awesome.
Cause he's the topless aquarium guy that Gawker talked about?
e-Doc is not a good idea for me, even if he were local because I have health insurance. But if I didn't, I might consider it. Maybe.
Ok, I need some hivemind help.
I'm about to go all mama-bear on K-Bug's behalf and I know I shouldn't. But I'm not sure what to suggest to her.
She applied for a job a few weeks ago. Went through two rounds of interviews and they said they would call her. She didn't get a call.
She called a couple of days after "the day to expect the call" and was told a manager would call her back. No call.
She went by the store and asked. "You didn't get a call? We are surprised. You will get a call tomorrow."
That was Tuesday. No call.
Job wise, I'd assume no job. But I want to knock some heads saying - look, if you are telling her no, then TELL HER NO. If you want to hire her, then give an honest answer. Has the hiring manager been sick - call and tell her that things are delayed. Whatever. But this keeping her hanging sucks. BLARGGGGGG.
No kidding. The last job I applied for (the math one at this school), they just never called me back. I'm still bitter.
I know there are lots of places that no news means no job. But when she follows-up, they act like they want her and that she will get a call the next day. Then nothing.
That's probably not a situation where a mama bear approach is beneficial. If K-Bug herself wants to give them a tongue lashing though, it could be a growth experience.
With your guidance, Suzi, this could be a good learning experience for K-Bug. Those people need a lesson in HR etiquette, seriously. If they're going to call her, they should CALL HER. I'd give her some points to go over (written down, practiced, even) and have her call and ask to speak to the manager, the hiring manager or the HR person right away. Explain that she's been waiting for a call, been promised a call and never gotten one. Then ask them to tell her what's going on.
