Now tagless for your comfort.

With your guidance, Suzi, this could be a good learning experience for K-Bug. Those people need a lesson in HR etiquette, seriously. If they're going to call her, they should CALL HER. I'd give her some points to go over (written down, practiced, even) and have her call and ask to speak to the manager, the hiring manager or the HR person right away. Explain that she's been waiting for a call, been promised a call and never gotten one. Then ask them to tell her what's going on.

Sadly, terribly common. BOO hiring ridiculousness.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Lack of communication from HR even after multiple interviews is very common, in my experience. Incredibly disheartening, but common.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

We always send out rejections to every applicant. Sometimes it takes a month or two--but that's because I have to wait for the hiring person to MAKE UP THEIR DAMN MIND ALREADY. Not that I'm complaining or anything.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So what are people doing this weekend?

I'm restraining myself from walking in there and saying "Your hiring practices are going to make me boycott your store. Straighten up and hire my daughter NOW".

K-Bug is stressing over the SAT's (tomorrow) more than the job, but once the SAT's are over, I have a feeling that a certain store is going to hear from her.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Chilling! And going to a beer festival tomorrow. And hanging out with my neighbors tomorrow night.

I have Monday off, so after Saturday, we have 2 days of unscheduled hanging out to do.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

So what are people doing this weekend?

Tonight, Friday Night Lights, baybee.

Tomorrow, cleaning, general puttering, with a probability of going over to GG Park and watching Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Also perhaps going up to Coit Tower to watch the ships come in to the Bay. Then, dinner with M & Vortex! Woot!

Sunday, watching the Blue Angels, probably. Also, Columbus Day parade and meeting many paisanos of the neighborhood.

Monday, I think there's a BBQ. Maybe.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Big band meeting tonight with bonus potential for blowup (guess what, the R&B band does not wish to do country tunes) and/or quitting. We've only committed through now, but they've booked a weeklong casino gig in November. I dunno if I want to stick with it or not; it just takes up so much emotional energy. Will I get used to it? Will I learn to deal with people? Is it worth it? Do I have time? I dunno, but I need to make up my mind.

Going out to the land today probably too. Saturday, lessons. Then I'm on holiday, essentially. SO has the prison on Tuesday. But all our schools are on intersession or fall break or Columbus Day (ha, ponder that irony, Navajo school celebrating Columbus Day) so we're off. I wanted to go to Phoenix to shop, but I don't think that's going to happen. So lots of administrative work, probably.

Oh, and our Mormons are going to stop by to talk The Church with us. Hee. They're cute. They're such teenagers. They're very earnest.

Otherwise, this weekend will be filled with lots of housework and paperwork and filing. Yay.

Painting and hanging kitchen cabinet doors. We wanted a soft apple green for the cabinets, and I found a color called "Christopher Robin's Swing" in the Classic Pooh line of Disney Paint. Yeah, Winnie the Pooh has a paint line--who knew? I just hope someone asks me what kind of paint it is, so I can say it's from the Classic Pooh line.
