I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is this more committee stuff? E-mail me if you want to whine.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Today did not begin auspiciously.

So very much this.

Things are somewhat better on that front now that I've sorted through my inbox. There's also a "why do people have to be so complicated?" whine in there, and a "the cleaning service J uses was a half-hour early, and so I was still in the shower rather than long gone, and guess where the cleaning supplies are? my bathroom closet."

And my oatmeal was gross. And my mom still hasn't confirmed if she's coming to Chicago this weekend.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I find oatmeal problematic. I want to like it. I try to like it. My liking is really helped by lots of sugar, which kind of defeats the purpose.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Today did not begin auspiciously.

Word.

Monday began with a toddler knee slamming into my eyeball at 6am.

Yeah, the amount of brown sugar I need to heap in to make oatmeal vaguely edible probably invalidates it as a healthy breakfast.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Add me to the inauspicious Monday list. Matilda got a big ol' goose-egg on her forehead and I missed my train hence arriving 15 minutes late.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Frozen fruit, like berries or cherries, is good in oatmeal. You can put them in cooked oatmeal straight from the freezer and they'll defrost fine, and cool down the oatmeal.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I hear that. Really, I like flavored instant oatmeal the best, but I can't believe that's any part of a healthy breakfast.

I'm a fan of putting toasted (sugared, of course) coconut on my oatmeal.
