"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Also, Liese, I bought two of those keyhole shirts! $10! What a steal!

I know, right? For a $70 shirt! Everyone should buy them! All the people in this thread who were tempted by them would look totally awesome in them!

I suppose I'm getting all shirt-likes-carrots, but really, this is the best shirt purchase I've made in a long while and I'm definitely going to get more. It worked great at the show tonight. It was quick to change into and survived soundcheck, gear moving, two hours of dancing and singing, load out including lots of cable winding and crawling around under the stage, and after-show dinner, all with aplomb. It really was moisture wicking, and I stayed completely comfortable in it, both when it was hot and sweaty moving gear under the lights, and when it was cold and windy (under my velvet coat) standing still onstage.

I told the SO, "I could hike in this shirt." He said, "You'd be the most elegant hiker out there." The trademark on the tag says, "Sweat Sexy." Ha!

Anyway, show went pretty well, except for the wind and the cold, which meant that a reasonable number of people were gone by our (early) end time. But there were a ton of really lovely classic cars out there, and the casino entertainment director seemed to really like us. They rarely book local acts, so we're already something of an aberration, but if it goes well, we may end up a standing fill-in band for their regular week-long bookings. Which would be lucrative.

Hope tomorrow goes well, wherein I will be wearing my purple keyhole top!

(I have no opinion on the rabbit hole that is Facebook. I fear faces.)

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Susan's M's are on that collapse list - I remember when the A's caught them. Lordy that was exciting.

You don't mean this year, right? Because as bad as we blew our season a month or so ago, we're going to finish in second in the West.

The team is actually about where I predicted them to be in April, just a hair over .500. I'd be happy with the season if they hadn't flirted with the playoffs and then tanked so spectacularly. Now I just wish I could get FOX and FSN to stop playing those damn "only one October" commercials here. I liked them back in July and August when we were in contention, but now they're salt in my fannish wounds.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Whoo-hoo! Cubs are actually NL Central champs! Make sure Steve Bartman doesn't get tickets to the playoffs...

Hey, I discovered that ABC is putting Dirty Sexy Money up On Demand if you're on Comcast Digital Cable.

I just found that out, too! WTTW (the local PBS station) also has the entirety of the Ken Burns doc The War available on Demand, too.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What is the link for the keyhole shirt?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You don't mean this year, right?

No, back in 2003.

Congrats to Cubs and Cleveland too!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Contourwear Keyhole Top.

It looks like that same brand has some other items on sale as well, including a wrap tank and a SPF zip-front travel shirt.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Is the shirt snug, liese, because they only have Medium (and maybe small) left?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

tommyrot, that is the stuff of nightmare, ijs.

mac is such a doll most Saturday mornings. He is up before 7 (not the doll part), but after getting him a piece of fruit I got back to bed and he watches cartoons and pulls out various toys to play with and clutter the living room. I sometimes sleep until 10 or 11 and he has gotten to where he only wakes me 1-2 times. What is funny is that once I do wake up, he needs a good hours of only ocassional contact with me. I cannot go in and just sit on the couch and start watching cartoons with him if I am to maintain his good mood. I was exactly the same, I would get FURIOUS with my father for coming into a room if I had been alone for a stretch. Even if he wasn't talking to me, the presence disturbed me. maybe that is just the normal reaction?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I quite understand the feeling! I particularly like some 'quiet time' to wake up by myself over the computer or the daily paper, whereas the rest of my family wants to be immediately social. And I LIKE my family, just not at that precise moment, please.
