I'm just, uh, just feeling kinda... truthsome right now. And, uh... life's just too damn short for ifs and maybes.

How is it that there will be five million posts when I can't read them at work, and on a rainy Saturday when I have no cash for a new book, and less motivation to do much of anything, there are about seven posts?

I have this same problem.

However! I have found truly good Cuban food at this tiny little dive in NE Pasadena called Lili's Cuban Buffet, so I am very happy. I had beef empanadas, a Cuban sandwich, and plantains for lunch. Yum.

I have a crapload of grading to do. I have done a very small amount of it. Bad teacher, no cookie.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We are not all forced to be in front of a 'puter on the weekends - like we are at work.

I cleaned up my house today since there was a chance one of mac's friends would come by, but he did not, so it was for nothing, but the place looks nice. I also got pics taken of 3 things I want to sell online, and added adjustable elastic to the waistband of mac's new school pants (also purchased today). I have cut up a pair of shorts he doesn't wear to make fabric patches for the outside of his pants that have holes now - and tomorrow, I'll buy iron on patches for the inside of the new pants as well adn the soon to be fabric patched old ones.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My local indie theatre is in the New York Times! Neat.

Sorryto hear about the ER visit, ita.

The spicy tuna roll I ate at dinner tonight has decided it doesn't like its new digs, and is attempting to tunnel its way out. Though on the bright side, I did find a place where one can get stuffed on $17 worth of sushi, a pretty good deal if atmosphere and location aren't priorities.

ita, I hope that this ER visit will actually result in no-more-pain for you. "Pain, pain, go away. Never come again any other day. Unless it's to Dick Cheney or George Bush."

DebetEsse, is that your kitty? He/She looks very pretty--all black?

Speaking of kitties, I stopped by PetSmart to get a kitty crack pad for ChiKat's Mickey (I'm heading over to her new place tomorrow to help her unpack her books and hang out). I decided to leave it in the car, because I just know that my Amarna would have been all over it if I had brought it in. As it was, I picked up a spritzer bottle of catnip spray and pulled one of her favorite little toys out of the basket that she has thoroughly ignored, sprayed it with the liquid catnip essence, and she spent the next few minutes hugging it to her chest. I took the next few minutes to give the rest of the toys in the basket a few spritzes, and she's pulled out half of them to scatter around the dining room.

I worked 9-5 at the bookstore, and at least it was relatively busy (unlike Thursday, which was deader than dead and boring as hell). They like it when those of us working the registers sell the membership cards (which can be hard, considering that they cost $25 each), and I had totally struck out on Thursday. Today, however, I ended up with seven, so they were pretty happy with me (I'm getting a rep as a card-selling wiz, which I also had at Waldenbooks). (They only sold four all day yesterday, to put seven in perspective.)

ita, I'm so sorry about another crappy ER experience.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My ER visit was way weird. So far my admission is way boring. But I didn't sleep last night and therefore slept all day. Tonight will be...fun.

Or something. Thanks for the sympathy.

They say I can leave tomorrow if my head isn't hurting. Lying around for two days kinda helps. It's when I start moving around and doing that it's a problem. I still hope I can get out.

need to call in sick for krav tomorrow. Oops.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

He is. He's got a dozen or so white hairs on his chest. I just got him this week. He's 10 and a bit, well, fat, and a total sweetheart. His old people called him "Fat Boy", which just will not do.

Yay, bookstores! Not any other comment, really. Just sort of a truism.

Oof, ita. Being off-schedule isn't fun in the best of circumstances, and I can't imagine being up at night in a hospital would be better.

You could call him "Winston" or maybe "Alfred" or "Hitchcock," if you want to continue the reference to his girth and age. And, go you for adopting an older cat!!

Amarna also has the stray white hair on her chest; actually, it's only one white hair, right smack between her front legs.
