ita, I'm so sad to hear that you're having another craptastic hospitalized weekend. You have had way more than your share.

Natter 54: Right here, dammit.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
trying to learn how to flirt. One day, I mean to acquire a boyfriend. Although, I must be doing something all right, since I merely said, "Excuse me," to some guy completely blocking the aisle, and he looked me over from head to foot (mind you, I was wearing yesterday's outfit and had just run through the parking lot in the rain), and said, "That is really quite all right," with a giant smile showing all his teeth. So weird.
It's probably because you're very pretty. Also, flirting is a fun thing to do. I recommend it.
Me, I was invited to two parties, today. One I forgot about until it was too late, and one I don't feel like going to (because it's going to be like a big frat party). Doh.
Thanks, Theodosia! The thought is appreciated.
Would someone please tell Lee that I'm not speaking to her? Thanks.
Alibelle, if you find helpful help anywhere, let the rest of us know. Go you with your awesome self, though.
Actually, I've found that I usually get that reaction whenever I do exactly what I did today--put zero effort into my appearance (this includes not brushing my hair, just pulling it back) and wear blue. I usually get some sort of comment and/or free stuff. It makes my friend Karen laugh like crazy every time. Especially since it's not something I do on purpose, I just happen to own a lot of blue. And a lot of laziness. The problem with this is, I am never ever interested in the people who respond to this kind of "allure." They are generally off-putting kinds of people, however nice free soda is, you know? I also attract crazy people, and people who want me to be their mom/life coach. Not attractive. Random searching of the internet has taught me that Miss Alli from TWOP did co-write a dating book, however, and that's kind of awesome.
ETA: Aw, thanks, meara!
Will someone please tell Alibelle she is making me cry and really isn't a very nice person.
Will someone please tell "Lee" that people in hiding from me deserve to cry because they are missing out on my brilliance? Also, that I'm a perfectly nice person, thank you.
I tried to get a bagel for breaking the fast, but the only ones that they still had any of were asiago cheese, jalepeno double cheddar, and cinnamon crisp, all of which I refuse to acknowledge as bagels. So I got pumpkin soup and a roll and a banana and a chocolate chip cookie. It worked.
How is it that there will be five million posts when I can't read them at work, and on a rainy Saturday when I have no cash for a new book, and less motivation to do much of anything, there are about seven posts?
I have this same problem.
However! I have found truly good Cuban food at this tiny little dive in NE Pasadena called Lili's Cuban Buffet, so I am very happy. I had beef empanadas, a Cuban sandwich, and plantains for lunch. Yum.
I have a crapload of grading to do. I have done a very small amount of it. Bad teacher, no cookie.
We are not all forced to be in front of a 'puter on the weekends - like we are at work.
I cleaned up my house today since there was a chance one of mac's friends would come by, but he did not, so it was for nothing, but the place looks nice. I also got pics taken of 3 things I want to sell online, and added adjustable elastic to the waistband of mac's new school pants (also purchased today). I have cut up a pair of shorts he doesn't wear to make fabric patches for the outside of his pants that have holes now - and tomorrow, I'll buy iron on patches for the inside of the new pants as well adn the soon to be fabric patched old ones.
My local indie theatre is in the New York Times! Neat.
Sorryto hear about the ER visit, ita.
The spicy tuna roll I ate at dinner tonight has decided it doesn't like its new digs, and is attempting to tunnel its way out. Though on the bright side, I did find a place where one can get stuffed on $17 worth of sushi, a pretty good deal if atmosphere and location aren't priorities.
