Um, well, we listened to aggressively cheerful music sung by people chosen for their ability to dance. Then we ate cookie dough, and talked about boys.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh, Anne, I am so sorry.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

What I am doing this weekend is NOT writing a book. I will be doing the endnotes however.

There is a chance that it might still come out before Christmas.

paperdol, there's a handy reference in Wikipedia to the differences between Science, Para-science, Pseudoscience and Fake Science. Anyway, they lay out the different distinctions and what the standard is.

Real science is pretty much: must be able to reproduce in a controlled experiment.

I don't know why people think consciousness is energy unless they're mistaking the electrochemical reactions in the brain. But you could just as well say that consciousness is chemistry. Which, frankly, makes more sense.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have a mango smoothie with pineapple and champagne. This pleases me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, that sounds wonderful.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

picked up meds tonight and the cost was double normal. no explination. I had them run it again through the insurance and it came back the same. Now I have to deal with the insurance. grr.

ION, the house is not a complete disaster (although bad cat peed on the rug - first time in a month) and mac is being charming and cute and self-entertained.

He has worn holes in 2 pairs of school pants in less than a month. I didn't even manage to get the patches put in. So I think getting new pants is now added to the list for tomorrow's activities.

I meant to tell Sophia that she also shares her birthday with:

H.G.Wells
Chuck Jones
Billy Murray
Ricki Lake
Luke Wilson

It is also Independence Day in Malta, Belize and Armenia.

Know your September 21st

Emmett's party is tomorrow even though his birthday is actually on Sunday.

Matilda's birthday is next Wednesday.

Getting new pants for mac and ironing reinforcing patches on the new ones. Mom used to do it all the time to our pants. Got a little extra mileage out of them.

I want to know why my facial muscles are all knotted up. It's like everything from my collarbone up is jacked up. Uhg.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

What I am doing this weekend is NOT writing a book. I will be doing the endnotes however.

There is a chance that it might still come out before Christmas.

If it does, I can continue the tradition of giving my brother a David Smay music-themed book for Christmas. (The years you don't have a book published are really tough for gift ideas, I tell you what.)

Relatedly, Hec, do you still want whole-book feedback this weekend, or is it too late? (I just haven't had a chance all week.)

Bed and Bathwork's coconut lime verbena soap makes me want to eat my hands. I love the way this stuff smells. (It doesn't really make me hungry, just it smells REALLY GOOD.)
