Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Now she is prepared to attack the Mayor and hang out with Frank Sinatra.

I'm glad to hear she's being raised right.

Apart from sports, "my secret favorite thing on earth is ketchup. I will put ketchup on anything. But it has to be Heinz." - my husband, Michael Vartan

Ooh, costumes!! I really desperately want to be a fairy, but I am incredibly poor right now, so I think I will settle for going as the one and only costume I own (due to the flood that killed half my stuff), which is a fairly nifty witch costume.

Hivemind question: We have an employee coming up on his 10th year and the company owner wants to give him a weekend at a fancy hotel (he's married, so it won't be just him). The hotel is right here in town and very chi-chi. Would you guys find a weekend, including a fancy dinner, in the town where you live a better gift than a plain airline gift certificate?

Okay, I totally have to talk about this. Why is the company that KILLED CHRISTMAS giving gifts?? First there was no Christmas party. Then there was the killing of all Christmas parties. And the death of Christmas bonuses. Now there is this. I feel bad for Christmas. I think Christmas's (and all holiday celebrations') feelings are hurt.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ok - since costumes are still a topic. If I were to go as Miss Information, how would I make a sash, with pretty words? I'm a dork. All my brain is coming up with is using calculator paper and writing on it. I think I'm too tired to brain.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Ali--I KNOW! But 10 years--that's a long time.

Just got home from babysitting the very charming and well-behaved Noah. He was excellent company!

Sadly, i missed a call frotm my mom, who was diagnosed with glaucoma. J tells me she was very sad, as she lives to read and her vision has affected that. The good side is that it is only in one eye and is treatable, although the damage that has been down is unfaxable..

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Cheap scarf or scrap of fabric and fabric paint.

10 years is a long time. That is an awful lot of Big Spins, Cristina's Courts, and Family Feud. But, still. And just when I got to the point of being all Zen about the Burbank apartment.

I'm totally jealous about the Noah babysitting!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Robin, my mother has it, as a result of her blood pressure issues. She also had cataracts, apparently related, and the surgery for the latter really helped a lot. With that and a new prescription for her glasses, she's reading as much as ever, which is a lot.

Oh, and apparently, the biggest plus side is that the drops they give you for glaucoma have the side effect of longer, thicker eyelashes.
