Yeah, I've got minions and minions for my minions that are running things for the first few days of the installation. My schedule is just crazy right now.

Yay for minions!
Heh. Well, by now they can look and see you've got other B.org friends, shrift, so it may help. On the other hand, I got a friend request from someone who'd gone to my college who I have NO memory of. I wrote her and was like "Do I know you?" and she's all "Oh, your name sounds familiar, did you work on [show with the theater group I was involved in]?" And I'm thinking "If I don't know you, and you only vaguely remember me, why would I be your friend, exactly?"
cab on fire at Rockefeller Center
Dude! Crazy!
Do any of the reports say what caused it? Or if anyone was in it at the time?
[edit: According to a commenter on Gothamist:
Here's the story without the dramatics: flames started coming out from under the hood. The cabbie got out of the cab & wasn't hurt. The cab never exploded (apparently, the gas tank wasn't full), but it did burn until it was a hunk of metal, plastic & glass. They just took it away on a forklift (picture from my office window here). I walked right past the whole thing at around 1:30 & didn't notice much of a smell at all. Now, it's 2:45 and the street is cleaned up & open to traffic.]
I think my favorite thing about the pictures is the people walking by casually in the background. Okay, I get it, I'm a jaded New Yorker too, but I think even I would turn my head and look if there was something ON FIRE across the street!]
I'm working on facebook stuff, too, shrift. And randomly trying to connect posting names with real names or facebook names. I found one guy from my high school class and college that I should really send a message to.
I'm in a foul mood today. Stressed and tired and cranky. The kids are not really cooperating with anything I try to get done and I'm just giving up on accomplishing anything until this evening when the coparent arrives to relieve me.
And I can't stop stress eating rice krispy treats.
Looking at the pictures of this cab on fire at Rockefeller Center should wake you up -- holy shit, it's crazy. [link]
Looks like Jack Donaghy's producing another misguided live special!
Also, yeah, crazy!

Yeah, I took a quick spin around last week, and there are a bunch of guys I vaguely recognize from my nerdcore high school, but I can remember having, like, conversations with only one of them.

I decided that, since I'm living in Chicago now and somewhat insulated from the small town gossip, I would try to be less invisible as Real Name me online. It's kind of terrifying, though.
Also the chocolate flavour of the icing was really strong (not good, since chocolate is a migraine trigger for my sister).
What kind of chocolate (oh, your poor sister-I hope to never learn that) did you use?
The last test recipe I did was also a layer cake and the icing did it in for me--the cake was marvellously moist of crumb, but the icing (cream cheese and butter and sugar) was too sweet and too fatty for me. I'm a ganache girl. I'm interested in this frosting to see if it can be added to my repertoire--but it has to be less sweet and/or fatty than buttercream for that.
I have a headache. I just thought I'd point that out since it's been at least an hour since I last mentioned it. I do. And I'm not happy about it.
I make the icing for my 70% chocolate cake...which I'm pretty sure as linked here...with just semisweet chocolate bits(9oz) and butter(1 stick). It's light and much of the yum.
Not so great as a migraine trigger, of course, but I wonder if other bits like peanut butter or white chocolate chips could work the same.
It's light and much of the yum.
I may just be out of the market. Melted chocolate and whipped cream is perfect for me--but then you can only have chocolate. I'm thinking mascarpone instead of cream cheese, maybe whipped cream instead of butter and just less sugar might fix the other icing some, but then I'm only up to two.
In case you're following along at home or work--head still hurts, and I need to decide when I'm going to give in.
