Elementary dragged in places, but I'm figuring that's New Show Info Dump. I liked the police captain, he doesn't have the adversarial relationship with Holmes, and the detective had an open mind.
I'll give it another shot.
'Not Fade Away'
This thread is for procedural TV, shows where the primary idea is to figure out the case. [NAFDA]

but I can't see the premise lasting beyond a season.
I'm not sure the premise lasted an episode. We had to keep rewinding to say "wait, what just happened?" Could not make sense of who was trying to do what (or how they were doing it all so fast). Seriously, they parked their boat, made some phone calls, killed a guy for making a phone call, took over a NATO station, ran back to the boat, made a speech, nuked DC, and WHAT? And all in what appeared to be about 20 minutes? I can't even figure out what they're after - any of them. Braugher and co., the SEALs, the whoever [else] is shooting off missles.
Best fun I've had all week.
Elementary - I did enjoy it. Part of it is shallow. I think that as a Lucy Liu has moved into her forties she has developed a much more interesting face.
In terms of why people who normally dislike Lucy Liu but don't here - I think it is because she is not playing into the racist stereotype "Asian Bitch-Goddess".
Lucy has played her share of bitch. If that's what they need from her, they can find it. Her TV role before this was high on the cold bitch scale.
I am super rolling my eyes at H50. Why did Danno drive (I'm assuming at ridic speeds, or did he observe the law?) to tell Steve such important information? Did they cover why phones and police radio were out of the question when he knows he's seeing his mother off, and that his mother's complicit in the Wo Fat shit? How long are we supposed to be sympathetic to that kind of heart-thumping revelation? I just thought they were stupid.
I will believe whatever Andre Braugher wants me to.
I'm with Dana.
That's a good point, ita, but I have already forgotten what the revelation was, so...that whole helicopter clampy rescue was pretty sweet...
I'm guessing that (in the tradition of melodrama) that Steve and Wo Fat are half brothers.
Missed the Braugher show.
I enjoyed Elementary.
Mrs. McGarrett didn't try and kill Wo Fat. No exchange of gunfire like she said--she fired three bullets into the floor. Which is also 101 stupid for someone who's "been doing this since before you were born".
I don't quite buy Lahti as long time action hero, myself. She is hardcore when the role calls for it, but I don't get the action part.
Lucy has played her share of bitch. I
KInd of my point. Her default role, which for once she is not playing.
