It's simple. I slap 'em around a bit, torture 'em, make their lives hell...Sure, the nice guys'll run away, but every now and then you'll find a prince like Spike who gets off on it.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Or she wasn't at home.

I think that she was at home, because she heard the "goodbye Nikki"

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Vortex ftw. I hang my head in shame at my deductive capabilities.

Or she wasn't at home.

Except there was that weird voice thing Beckett seemed to react to. I'm guessing the guy might have grabbed her and then blown the apartment. There was a tied up/gagged woman in the preview.

Although I guess if the killer knew she wasn't at home both parts might be right.

Castle looked very Mal-like several times this ep.

You're not wrong.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I noticed that, too! Something about the hair. More carelessly dishevelled bangs or something. Or for the non follicularly-obsessed, maybe it was the darker tone of the episode, too.

I loved Dana Delaney in this. I never watched Desperate Housewives when NF was on it, but didn't he and Delaney play a couple?

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Naked Beckett in peril ties in with the book. They did a lot of that in this ep.

I want to watch again. Right now. There was a lot of quotetastic and/or funny/charming stuff going on.

And waking up to NF making pancakes would not be a bad thing.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

There was a tied up/gagged woman in the preview.

That was Dana Delaney.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Naked Beckett in peril ties in with the book

So that explains that horrid sequence? Although I was amused by the first silhouetted pose behind the shower curtain. I couldn't quite tell, but it looked like, for once, a TV character was actually washing the important bits.

my R key is sticking. Must get the crumbs out.

In the book Nikki Heat is attacked in her home when she's fresh from the bath. There is a big fight sequence with her in the buff.

Cool bit: as of this episode, all three boys from The Initiative from Buffy have guest-starred on Castle -- Bailey Chase (Graham) as Beckett's ex in S1, Marc Blucas as that amnesic victim, and Leonard Roberts (Forrest) as one of Shaw's team member in this one. Maybe one of the writers or producers of the show is a fan?

Lindsay Crouse would make it a perfect home run. With a character named Adam.
