Because books.

I don't know, I can't see movie Hannibal as a sexual being, but this Hannibal has it, I think. I thought I would be freaked out, but I wasn't. (I mean, in real life, yes, lips of CANNIBAL, but whatever).

It's hard to believe Miriam is still alive -- hadn't it been, like, three years? I guess the only evidence was the arm they found, though.

The harpsichord was super creepy, and Hannibal's smile at the end even more so. I feel like he must have overplayed his hand, though, right?

"what's left when you take biology and sociology out of the picture?" "An autistic hermaphodite." -Allyson

As my wife pointed out, Hannibal managed to screw with Will's head pretty effectively with just a few sessions and a handy dose of encephalitis. He's had Miriam for YEARS.

At this point, he probably could have convinced her that JACK'S the Chesapeake Ripper.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

That's a creepy thought.

We've never known Hannibal to hide his face so it should be interesting to see how that works out.

Because books.

Am I misremembering or is Chilton more of an idiot in the books than in this series? It's been a while since I read them, but I remember him being pompous, and not nearly as bright as he thinks he is.

I don't really remember him from the books (I don't remember the books well at all, I read them a while ago), but this Chilton is definitely more intelligent than movie!SotL Chilton. He's still ambitious and smarmy, but he's not being led around blind by his ego.

Yikes. Thank you!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Dear Hannibal writers: Was this episode, like, a prompt fill for "make your loyal viewers say 'fucking EWWWW!'?" Because between cannibal sex and self-cannibalism (I must enjoy myself), you win, okay? You can stop now because you win. And I say this as someone who has been basically okay on the "fucking eww" front up to this point.
