Illyria: Wesley's dead. I'm feeling grief for him. I can't seem to control it. I wish to do more violence. Spike: Well, wishes just happen to be horses today.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I really want to like Brooklyn Nine Nine because I love so many of the actors, but I CANNOT STAND Andy Sandberg.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

You know, I couldn't stand his character for the first season, and now that we're in the middle of the fourth season, I realized I like him. I don't know when that happened. Because I generally dislike Andy Samberg, but he got me.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Vortex is me. Want to like the show; can't stand the lead.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

He won me over.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It was rocky at the beginning of the show, but I think they figured out how to use him better and how Jake fit into everything.

Samburg's what's been keeping me away too.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

For those of us who have found ourselves now fond of Jake Peralta, what was your moment where you realized, hey! I don't hate him!

Mine was (we've been rewatching with Lilly) probably when he punched Jimmy Brogan for his homophobic remarks about Holt, as this episode review discusses [link]

Cereal: he really did go from "I'm watching despite him" to "I'm watching in part for him" over the years.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I couldn't cite the turning point but I know I was hesitant to watch with him as the lead.

Then I remembered I liked his low key presence in I Love You, Man. And as I watched I really loved the way they wrote his character.
