He won me over.
It was rocky at the beginning of the show, but I think they figured out how to use him better and how Jake fit into everything.

For those of us who have found ourselves now fond of Jake Peralta, what was your moment where you realized, hey! I don't hate him!
Mine was (we've been rewatching with Lilly) probably when he punched Jimmy Brogan for his homophobic remarks about Holt, as this episode review discusses [link]
Cereal: he really did go from "I'm watching despite him" to "I'm watching in part for him" over the years.
I couldn't cite the turning point but I know I was hesitant to watch with him as the lead.
Then I remembered I liked his low key presence in I Love You, Man. And as I watched I really loved the way they wrote his character.

I honestly don't remember. It just kind of happened.
There are times when I still cringe at Peralta but I like the rest of the cast. S I've rewatched some and The character has gotten less cringey
I feel like it was a gradual transformation of the Jake Peralta character, and looking back at it now, it was a beautiful thing. Even if Sandburg stayed annoying, I swear Andre Braugher is worth the pain.
