So, it's going to be Stella's ex who breaks up the wedding, huh?
Got to be. While I understand the concept behind not wanting exes at your wedding, I think there's a difference when that person has been part of the new couple's life. I mean, Robin has hung out at Stella's house.
BTW, these VW commercials with Brooke Shields are ridiculous and stupid.

Oh, god, couldn't agree more.

they crack me up! I'm pretty easy I guess.

I thought they were working a typical sitcom thing where an unnecessary complication was arising from the Bride being Crazy but then they turned it around.
I guess that it was more about Stella's unresolved issues that Ted's. also, side note: where is Lucy. Stella and Lucy's dad were on the ferry, so where was the kid?
Oh! I thought that in the beginning of their relationship Stella had said that Lucy's dad was totally out of the picture. Did I make that up?
No, she said that. But, when you have a kid with someone, they can only be out of the picture but so much.

I don't think that's necessarily true. He could have been a one-night stand or married or just didn't want to be part of their lives at all. I thought it might be a ret-con and I'm sad that it is. This show is usually so good with the continuity!
I love the VW commercials too, lisah.

I'm not really looking at it as a retcon, or I guess it's hand-wavable, particularly after last night's episode. Stella had (has) big-time Tony issues, so I can see her telling someone else that he's completely out of the picture, in an effort to convince herself that he's completely out of the picture.
I really loved that episode. A lot.
